starts a series of national dialogues

 

AlNahda Society held the first national dialogues sessions hosted by Princess Nourah Bint Abdul Rahman University and sponsored by KPMG, in conjunction with the presidency of Al Nahda society for W20.

This series aims to shed light on the priorities of Saudi women and their economic empowerment, thus contributing to the creation of policies that affect the financial and technical inclusion,labor market and women’s participation in entrepreneurship inclusion.

The session started with an introductory W20, presented by Dr. Reem Al-Feryan, Executive Director of G20.

followed by Ms. Salma Al-Rashed W20 Sherpa, who gave a summary of the W20 saudi arabia 2020 and the priorities of the presidency.

Then the Secretary General of the Family Affairs Council, Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri, presented a brief summary of the “National Women’s Strategic Plan and Empowerment”. It also announced that Riyadh is named (Capital of Arab Women).

It was followed by the opening of the first dialogue sessions entitled (the current situation of Saudi women in the context of the areas of interest of the Women Communication Group: labor market and technical inclusion) presented by Hind AlZahid from the Ministry of Civil Service and Ms. Lamia Al-Arfaj from the General Organization for Social Insurance as well as Ms.Tasnim Al-Ghamdi from The Ministry of Labor, Social Development and Counselor on Innovation and Digital Economy Ms.Dima Al Yahya, Dr.Thoraya Obaid W20 Chair moderated the session.

The second dialogue session entitled (The current situation of Saudi women in the context of the areas of interest of the Women Communication Group: Financial Inclusion and Entrepreneurship) was discussed by Ms.Nour Al-Abdulkarim from the Social Development Bank and Ms.Afnan Al-Babtain from “Monshaat” and Ms.Amal Dukhan from the Global Network for Saudi Entrepreneurship.

The session was moderated by Dr. Suzan Al Yahya, Assistant Professor in the Department of Graphic and Multimedia Design at Princess Nora University.

In the third session, Dr. Aseel Al-Mansour from the General Authority for Statistics and Dr. Abeer Al-Harbi from the National Observatory for Women and Professor Jawaher Al-Sudairy from Al-Nahdha Association discussed the mechanisms of monitoring and follow-up.

Then the attendees were divided into closed roundtable sessions in four groups, each group specializing in closed dialogue for two hours to discuss: financial inclusion, inclusion in the labor market, technical inclusion, women’s participation in entrepreneurship, and the outputs were later reviewed by attendees in the main hall.

The meeting concluded with a speech presented by HRH Princess Moudi Bint Khalid, Alnahda Society Board of Directors Chairman, explaining the importance of these dialogues, which will be held again in the cities of Jeddah and Dammam to obtain the largest number of recommendations that it hopes will have a significant impact in the design of policies and recommendations related to the economic empowerment of women .

In this context, Khulood Musa, partner in the KPMG and head of the diversity and inclusion program in KPMG ( Sponsor of the national dialogues) confirmed that KPMG Al-Fawzan and Co. in Saudi Arabia have been keen to participate effectively in these national dialogues about Saudi women, which is a complement to KPMG’s strategy and plans in empowering women and enhancing their role in various fields and sectors.
