AlNahda society held the second session of the national dialogues on Saudi women for W20, hosted by Effat University in Jeddah and sponsored by KPMG, Gulf International Bank, and Saudi Airlines, in conjunction with the presidency of the AlNahda society for W20 Communication Group.

Speeches and discussions focused on the priorities of Saudi women and their economic empowerment, promoting the inclusion of gender equality and economic empowerment for women in policies and decisions made by G20 leaders.

The second national dialogue started with a welcome speech from HRH Princess Lolowah AlFaisal, vice-chair of Effat University Board of Founders & Board of Trustees, followed by an introduction to the W20 communicated group by Dr. Thurya Obaid, W20 Chair. After that, a presentation summarized (the National Strategy for Women and Empowerment Plan) presented by Dr. Sana Al-Otaibi, member of the Women’s Committee of the Family Affairs Council.

After that, the series of open dialogues began, in which representatives of the concerned parties participated: the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the General Organization for Social Insurance, Monshaat, the Social Development Bank, and the Global Entrepreneurship Network.

It was followed by closed dialogue sessions according to the four pillars: financial inclusion, technical inclusion,labor inclusion and entrepreneurship inclusion. 

Rasha Al-Turki, executive director of AlNahda Society, confirmed the importance of the outputs of the dialogue sessions of W20, as these sessions will present recommendations and policies related to the economic empowerment of women, and to submit such recommendations and policies to the G20 leaders during the Summit in November in Riyadh.

 

Al-Turki commended the role of all the sponsors and KPMG in Saudi Arabia in supporting and sponsoring the series of national dialogues for Saudi women that will highlight their priorities, empowerment and active role in different fields under different themes, the most important of which are the work sector, economy, technology, and entrepreneurship.

AlNahda is looking forward to more ideas and opinions on the topics raised in the final national dialogue on Saudi women Which will be held in the Eastern Region in cooperation with the Eastern Region Council for Social Responsibility.
