Alnahda Society Board Members
For the year 2019
The Board of Directors is elected by Alnahda’s General Assembly. The BOD is the governing power that sets and oversees the implementation of the organization’s policies and plans. It is held responsible by the Alnahda’s members and it’s sponsors for achieving the it’s mission and goals as well as organizational and financial stability. The Board focuses on strategic planning and it delegates administrative and operational work to the Executive Director.

HRH Princess Moudi Bint Khaled Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud
Chairwoman
HRH Princess Moudi has been the General Secretary of Alnahda since 1984 A.H. and has been the guiding force behind its strategic planning process and financial structuring. She is a founding board member of several other non-profit organizations such as Saut and the King Khalid Foundation. In 2013 she was appointed by royal decree as a member of the Shoura Council and in 2018

Ms. Fawzia Rashid Abdulrahman Alrashid
Vice Chairwoman
Ms. Alrashid has been one of the main supporters of Alnahda since 1990. She established and chaired the Communication Committee and adopted, among many others, Alnahda’s literacy Program. Ms. Al-Rashid is a founding BOD member of the Takatof and Saut NPOs and of the Rashid Saad Al Rashid and Sons group of companies.

Ms. Lulwa Abdullah AlHamdan
Financial Overseer
Ms. AlHamdan has been a Supporting member at Alnahda since 2017 she was elected as a board member in 2019. Ms. AlHamdan has a long experience in banking and she is currently working as the Chief Treasury Manager in the Saudi British Bank (SAAB). She has volunteered during her work with Saudi British Bank and is a member of several civic organizations, including Sanad, Cella and Oqal.

Ms. Abeer Abdulmuhsen Saad Bin Saeed
Member of the Board of Directors
Ms. Bin Saeed has been a supporting member at Alnahda for more than 20 years and a board member since 1998. During this time, she has participated in many activities including the Strategic Planning Committee, the ‘Atta Committee and the Home Purchasing Committee. Ms. Bin Saeed introduced and supported a family “adoption” project which aimed to provide direct financial assistance and services to Alnahda’s beneficiary families.

Ms. Fatima Abdulrahman Mohammad Almousa
Member of the Board of Directors
Ms. Almousa has been a supporting member at Alnahda for more than 12 years and the founder and School Principal at the Wahat Al-Ilm Al-Ahliyaa. During her membership, she has worked on establishing and chairing the ‘Atta committee which has carried out many fundraising events and public awareness activities.

Ms. Muneera Ibrahim Abdulaziz Altouq
Member of the Board of Directors
Ms. Altouq has been a supporting member at Alnahda for more than 7 years. During her membership, Ms. Al-Touq conducted a statistical study of the training programs for Al Nahda and its effectiveness in increasing participants’ employment. She has also participated in several of Al-Nahda’s educational and awareness programs. In her professional career she has worked as a nutrition specialist in the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center.

Dr. Yasmin Ahmad Ibrahim Altuwaijry
Member of the Board of Directors
Dr. Yasmin Ahmad Altwaijri has been a member of the Board of Directors of Alnahda Society since 2015. She is a Principal Scientist at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre and is widely recognized as a leading authority in advancing mental health research in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Altwaijri served as the Principal Investigator of the Saudi National Mental Health Survey (SNMHS), the largest and most comprehensive national household mental health survey ever conducted in the Kingdom. Her work has been instrumental in shaping national strategies aligned with Vision 2030, influencing sectors such as healthcare, economics, and workplace wellness. Her contributions have significantly strengthened the national evidence base for mental health policy and service planning. In recognition of her scientific leadership and impact, Dr. Altwaijri has received several prestigious honors, including the League of Arab States Award for Women in Science and the Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman Prize for Women’s Excellence in Science.

Dr. Thoraya Ahmed Obaid
Member of the Board of Directors
Dr. Thoraya Obaid was the first Arab woman to head a UN agency. She started her career at the United Nations in 1975 in the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) where she served at different positions, including the Director, Division for Population and Social Development until 1993, when she became the Deputy Executive Secretary. From 2001 to 2010, she assumed the Under-Secretary-General position as the Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). Dr. Obaid is one of the first 30 Saudi women who were appointed by King Abdallah bin Abdulaziz in 2013 as members of the Shura Council (Consultative Council) where she served for four years. In 2013, she was awarded the King Abdulaziz Medal of the First Degree for her international service. She holds a doctorate degree in English Literature and Cultural Anthropology from Wayne State University in Michigan and a B.A. in English Literature and Sociology from Mills College in California. She is active in various non-governmental organizations. She has been a supporting member at Alnahda, non-profit organization based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, since 1987 and is currently a member of the Board of Directors.

Ms. Abir A. Kaki
Member of the Board of Directors
Ms. Kaki has been a supporting member at Alnahda since 2017 and was elected as a member of the Board of Directors in 2019. Ms. Kaki worked in local and international companies also served as the Secretary General of Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation and she is currently the General Manager of Estee Lauder Companies Saudi Arabia, and a board member of several management companies.

Ms. Hessa Saleh Sulaiman Alshuaibi

Ms. Alshuaibi has been a supporting member at Al Nahda for more than 41 years. She been a relentless fundraiser for Al Nahda’s programing and has focused her efforts especially on securing the organization’s yearly zakat financing

Ms Rasha Alturki
Member of the Board of Directors
Ms. Alturki was the Chief Executive Officer at Alnahda for 9 years. Prior to that, she managed the development projects at Alnahda for three years, including the establishment of 3 new projects: mental health awareness, Mustaqbali and Forsa. She is a part-time member of the Human Rights Commission, Founding Member of the Sela Saudi women's network. She holds an M.A. in Middle Eastern Studies from Harvard University in the United States of America.

Dr. Miznah Al-Omair
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Miznah Al-Omair began her professional career as a mental health therapist at the National Guard Health Affairs at King Abdulaziz Medical City. She then pursued a career in academia at Prince Sultan University in which she was a faculty member and the director of the Student Affairs Office. Moreover, she worked as a graduate research assistant at Chapman University in California. She served as a Consultant and Researcher at the Women’s Leadership Center at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. In 2022, she joined Alnahda Society as the Chief Program Officer, and was appointed as Chief Executive Officer a year later. By a Supreme Order, she was appointed in 2023 to head the Saudi delegation for the W20 engagement group. In 2024, Dr. Alomair was appointed by the UN Human Rights Council to its Advisory Committee as a member from Asia Pacific States.
Dr. Alomair obtained her higher education degrees fromCalifornia, USA. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Concordia University, a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University, and a Ph.D. in Education, with an emphasis in Leadership Studies and minor in Disability Studies from Chapman University.
Dr. Alomair has experience in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and is a published scholar in the field of Leadership Studies with focus on women leadership, youth leadership, and peace leadership. Additionally, she is a certified assessor in the Leadership Practice Inventory, and a certified trainer in the Leadership Challenge and Connective Leadership Development models.
