Al-Nahda Society held the second session of the National Dialogues on Saudi Women for the W20 (Women 20) Engagement Group, hosted by Effat University in the city of Jeddah and sponsored by KPMG, Gulf International Bank, and Saudia Airlines. This event coincided with Al-Nahda Society’s presidency of the W20 Engagement Group.

This series of dialogues aims to highlight the priorities of Saudi women and support their economic empowerment, thereby contributing to the development of policies that influence financial inclusion, digital inclusion, labor market inclusion, and women’s participation in entrepreneurship.

The second meeting began with a welcome address by Her Royal Highness Princess Lolowah Al-Faisal, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees and Supervisor General of Effat University. This was followed by an introductory overview of the W20 Engagement Group delivered by Dr. Thoraya Obaid, Chair of the W20. Subsequently, a presentation summarizing the National Strategy for Women and Their Empowerment was delivered by Dr. Sana Al-Otaibi, a member of the Women’s Committee at the Council of Family Affairs.

The event then moved into a series of open dialogue sessions with representatives from relevant entities, including the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the General Organization for Social Insurance, Monsha’at, the Social Development Bank, and the Global Entrepreneurship Network.

This was followed by closed dialogue sessions organized around four key areas: financial inclusion, digital inclusion, labor market inclusion, and inclusion in entrepreneurship.

The meeting concluded with a closing and appreciation speech delivered by the Executive Director of Al-Nahda Society, addressed to the event sponsors and all participants who contributed to enriching the dialogues. She emphasized the importance of the outcomes of the W20 dialogue sessions chaired by the Society, which are expected to result in recommendations and policies related to women’s economic empowerment to be submitted to G20 leaders during their upcoming meeting at the end of November in Riyadh.

She also praised the role of the sponsors—KPMG, Gulf International Bank, and Saudia Airlines—for their support and sponsorship of the National Dialogues on Saudi Women and the success of the first and second sessions. Al-Nahda Society looks forward to further ideas and perspectives on the topics discussed in the final round of the National Dialogues on Saudi Women, which will be held in the Eastern Province in cooperation with the Eastern Province Social Responsibility Council.
