Coinciding with International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8 each year, and with Riyadh being selected as the Capital of Arab Women 2020, the national platform for women leaders, “Qiyadiyat,” was officially launched. This new Saudi platform aims to further empower women in leadership positions.

The launch ceremony was held at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, and His Excellency the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha. Al-Nahda Society was represented at the event by Ms. Rasha Al-Turki, who delivered an introductory presentation on the Society and its role in building the capacities of Saudi women since its establishment.

It is worth noting that the national platform for Saudi women leaders, “Qiyadiyat,” is one of the initiatives of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, implemented in cooperation with Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. The platform includes a database of national women leaders and enhances the quality of selection of Saudi women to represent the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in local and international delegations and official forums. It also documents and showcases the achievements of women leaders in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

The “Qiyadiyat” platform aims to facilitate rapid access to national women leaders for the public sector, private sector institutions, and civil society organizations. Registration is open to Saudi women who have a minimum of eight years of professional experience, including at least two years in a supervisory role leading work teams.
