Alnahda Society concluded the series of national dialogues about Saudi women, organized in conjunction with its presidency of the Women 20 Engagement Group (W20) in 2020. The national dialogues consisted of enriching meetings with women speakers in national leadership positions. It also included closed round table discussions with influential elite and experienced professionals from different industries in four areas: financial inclusion, digital inclusion, labor inclusion, women’s participation in entrepreneurship.
The dialogues aimed to shed light on Saudi women’s priorities, which resulted in proceeding to issue a list of recommendations to policies that enable women economically in line with W20 of 2020.
The meeting started with a welcome speech given by Jawaher Al-Sudairy, the Director of Alnahda Center for Research, followed by presentations of the closed round table discussions outcomes in addition to reviewing the recommendations of each of the W20 areas presented by Mai Bin Dayel, financial inclusion facilitator, Shahad Attar digital inclusion facilitator, Monirah Al-Qahtani labor inclusion facilitator, and finally Lateefa Al-Waalan women’s participation in entrepreneurship facilitator.
The meeting was concluded by opening the floor for audiences’ questions, facilitated by Jawaher Al-Sudairy, followed by a closing statement by HRH Princess Moudi bint Khalid, Board of Directors Chairman of AlNahda Society and a member of W20 Steering Committee. HRH explained the importance of working hand in hand with stakeholders from the public and private sectors and civil society, to ensure a community that is proud of women’s participation and preserving of their dignity.
It is worth noting that the national dialogues were sponsored by Saudi Aramco, KPMG, Banque Saudi Fransi, SIDF, and the Gulf International Bank. It was also sponsored by Alnahda regional partners: Princess Nourah University in Riyadh, Effat University in Jeddah, and Eastern Province Council for Social Responsibility, where the latter was a partner in the virtual meeting which hosted experts from the Eastern Province in its closed discussions.
