As part of its ongoing efforts to meet the needs of individuals who were severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the Kingdom, Landmark Arabia partnered with Al-Nahda Society—one of the oldest organizations dedicated to women’s empowerment in Saudi Arabia—to provide donations in support of the “Techni” project. The initiative was launched by the Society to enhance the digital empowerment of beneficiary families, thereby helping students from low-income households to continue their education virtually during the pandemic by providing them with devices free of charge and setting them up for use.
The “Techni” project, one of the capacity-building initiatives, aims to equip beneficiaries with essential digital skills that enable them to keep pace with the modern era, prepare for the future, and make effective use of the internet and technology to access various services that have become fundamental to daily life, including legal and educational services, as well as e-government services. The project was developed in alignment with the fourth United Nations Sustainable Development Goal, which calls for “ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.”
Commenting on the initiative, Neesha Jagtiani, Group Director at Landmark, said: “Education provides students with numerous opportunities to succeed in their lives. We are pleased to partner with Al-Nahda Society to support its efforts to help children and women-led low-income families continue their education during this crisis. With the spread of COVID-19 in the region, our goal is to identify the needs of local communities and work on the ground with organizations that share our vision of making a positive and tangible difference in the lives of those most affected by the pandemic.”
She added: “We recognize that continued access to education and remote learning can be a challenge for children who do not have appropriate devices. Therefore, we were fully committed to working with Al-Nahda Society to ensure that we contribute to improving the lives of these students.”
Rasha Al-Turki, Executive Director of Al-Nahda Society, added: “Collaboration with success partners such as Landmark is what truly makes a difference. Their recent contribution will support our efforts to ensure that families and children facing social and financial challenges do not fall behind academically due to a lack of the technological tools required for continuous learning. By using these devices, we will be better able to support and empower beneficiary women and children to achieve their academic, professional, and future goals.”
